In this experience I’ve found that as things got more “real,” they got scarier. We were so busy the past week building and installing – but in a few quiet moments before bed I would be wondering – questioning – What if no one comes to the panel??  What if people don’t interact with the interactives? What if it doesn’t make sense to anyone but us?? I know Steffi and Meredith at least shared some of this anxiety – we had worked so hard…

 

…That all said – I could honestly not be happier with how opening went!

 

Clarisabeth picked up an amazing spread from the caterers, and “garnished” it with her interpretations on how food relates to questions of identity. People interacted – they touched the “can touch” items, and they wrote on the chalk-board, and they developed a working wiki-nition for Andy Warhol. And we got wonderful feedback!

 

And then there was the panel discussion. Probably the scariest part – but oh my goodness – it was so great!  Our speakers played off each other and generated truly interesting conversation and represented such an wide range of perspectives. There were times...
