The Museums Studies Program at Syracuse University will be presenting an exhibition this semester at the Sue & Leon Genet Gallery which will explore the nature and importance of questions. This endeavor is an ambitious one; there have been no other exhibitions like it that we know of. FAQ: Fearlessly Asked Questions aims to be an innovative, educational, and beautiful presentation of a unique aspect of the human condition: questioning.

This exhibition will house interdisciplinary displays based on question categories, with artifacts and resources drawn from history, science, art, pop culture, and personal interviews, to engage visitors in valuable learning experiences.  The Exhibition will explore two thematic narratives: 1.) The types of questions we ask; and 2.) How we seek answers to those questions. The overall vision for the exhibition is to bring attention to the importance of questions, both from a societal and individual perspective, while raising important questions for gallery visitors to consider for themselves. We hope for the physical gallery to be supported by an online component to enable a continued and wider reach of learning.

Please note: Syracuse University does not own the rights to many of the images and materials in this exhibit. We are displaying such items under the Fair Use clause of US Copyright law: "...for nonprofit educational purposes," and allowances of the courts for the "reproduction by a teacher or student of a small part of a work to illustrate a lesson."  The exhibition FAQ: Fearlessly Asked Questions is staged solely for educational purposes and is not generating profit.  Wherever possible, we have cited the owners of artifacts, and we have a list of sources available upon request.
